Was with the compresssion driver WE 555W others with Westrex 2080. Structurely the 4061/4080's size is different than the HF 4000 due to the need to change the magnet design to keep the driver affordable. The 4061/4080 driver is identical in engineering to the Gauss HF 4000, mounts the same, and takes the same diaphragms of differing material. While the sticker on these drivers say 4080, they were changed to a 16 ohm phenolic diaphragm in the field (making them a 4061). The 4080, for example was an 8 ohm aluminum diaphragm. Gauss, following the HF-4000 series had multiple model numbers with a new magnet where the first two numbers were always 40 and the last two numbers revealed how the driver was assembled at the factory before shipping, referring to impedence of the diaphragm and the material of the diaphragm. His components lived in an Audio Lab, which is why the 44 components we have from him are erily clean. This purchase is from a Physics Engineer who worked on speaker design with the big boys and he was partial to Gauss components in the 80's. They were NEVER out on the road being pounded night after night. Offered here are 2 Gauss HF-4080 (actually 4061) High Frequency Drivers.
